1. Do I have unique page titles for each page of my site?
2. Do I have meta keywords and descriptions tags on every page? Are they unique to every page on the site?
3. Am I bolding and putting heading tags around the most important titles and information on the page?
4. Is the content I am offering valuable? Will other webmasters want to link to my info?
5. Am I growing my site organically? Will I be able to add new pages each day or week?
6. Do I try and put a focus for each page on ultra-niche terms? For example: ‘Red and Purple Futon Covers’. VERY niche. On the other hand: ‘Futon Covers’ is not so niche.
The more focused you can make your topics, the less competition there will be for the term in the search engines… Therefore you will inherently gain better positioning. These points will help you establish a solid SEO foundation to work from. Build these points into your site while you’re building it if you can… And you will be ahead of the game.
Go Niche or Go Home
The realm of SEO is fierce and competitive. There are literally millions of people out there just like you, trying to move up the search engine rankings to bring in more visitors. What do we recommend? Go where the competition ISN’T. As I had mentioned in the previous section, write about topics that are ultra-niche. 3, 4, or 5 word keyword terms are GREAT! There will be MUCH less competition for those terms, and if your content is unique and valuable, you will do well. While some webmasters out there might be focusing on LARGE, heavy-hitting 1 or 2 word keyword terms… You can go ahead and absolutely nail the niche topics. The great thing is, that while the ‘big players’ rank well for the huge terms, you can generate just as much traffic by hitting all the little niche’s out there that other webmasters might not be building pages for. So while one guy might get 1,000 unique visitors per day from one BIG term, you’re getting the same amount of traffic, spread over 50-100 well written pages! See where I’m going here? This isn’t where it ends however. Once you’ve built your site, and are focusing on the niche terms… Things get more fun.
Your site starts to establish a reputation. People start linking in to you (always be on the offensive and look for new incoming links as well!)… Your site ultimately becomes an ‘authority’ on the topics your site is about. It is when you reach this ‘authority’ status that you can start killing the huge 1 and 2 word terms!

2. Build out pages on ultra niche terms.
3. Build your sites reputation until you are an ‘authority’
4. Start working towards killing the BIG non-niche terms for a further explosion in traffic!
