Hyros and Triple Whale Are a Scam

Every media buyer on Twitter is getting told they need Hyros or Triple Whale like it’s a religion. I’ve tracked millions in ad spend over fifteen years, so let me say what the influencers cashing affiliate checks won’t: these tools are overpriced shit, the pricing model is basically a scam, and you can do the exact same thing for a flat hundred bucks a month.

They charge you more for growing

Hyros and Triple Whale price on tiers tied to your revenue and ad spend. Make more, pay more. Same software, same features, same dashboard, but your bill climbs every time your business does. Taking a bigger cut of my revenue while doing nothing extra for it is not software pricing. That’s a rev share I never agreed to think of it as.

Run the actual math. At small spend it’s a few hundred a month and feels fine. That’s the drug dealer price. Then you scale, which is the entire reason you wanted tracking, and suddenly you’re paying thousands a month, every month, forever, for software that did not improve one pixel since the cheap tier. They built their whole pricing model around billing your growth. Over a couple years of real volume, the difference between that bill and a flat tracker is a car. Keep scaling and it’s a house down payment, gone to a dashboard company.

Binom is a flat license. RedTrack is a flat subscription. Both cost roughly the same whether you spend ten grand a month or a million. I’ve run my entire operation on flat trackers for years. Nothing about my tracking got worse when my spend got bigger. Only my bill would have, if I’d been dumb enough to sign up for the tax.

The “AI attribution” is marketing, not technology

Here’s what these tools actually do under the buzzwords: capture click IDs, store first-party data, fire server-side postbacks when a conversion happens, stitch it together. That’s it. That’s the whole product. Binom has done this for a decade. RedTrack does it. The conversion API wiring that makes Hyros “work” is the same wiring every serious tracker runs, and it costs a tenth as much.

The “AI” part is modeled attribution, which is a fancy way of saying the tool guesses where its data has holes and shows you the guess like it’s a fact. You are not paying for better data. You are paying for a prettier interface reading the same data. Yes, Binom’s UI looks like it was built in a basement in 2014. It also catches every click and the bill never moves.

The honest version of the Hyros pitch would be: “same tracking mechanics, nicer dashboard, easier setup, and we take a growing cut of your scale forever.” Nobody would buy that. So instead you get AI language and a wall of guru testimonials from people who get paid when you sign up. Ask yourself why every influencer pushing these tools has an affiliate link and none of them mention the pricing curve.

What you actually need

The job hasn’t changed in ten years. Which click, which creative, which angle, which lander, which geo, what it cost, what it made, verified server-side instead of trusting the ad platform to grade its own homework. Any real tracker does this. The edge has never come from which tracker anyone ran. It comes from reading the numbers every day and killing losers without emotion, and that discipline costs nothing.

Pay flat for the mechanics. Keep your percentage. Let the gurus keep the kickbacks.
