So you’re an internet marketer, which means you located a niche, you located your target keywords, and you purchased a domain. Remember, we’re trying to do as little work as possible here. Here’s the truth. Your ranking in Google are weighted really on 3 simple factors.
1. Getting backlinks
2. Having a strong, aged domain that already has trust in Google’s eyes.
3. Having a website with a bit of relevant content In that order…
So what that means is you really don’t need to spend days or weeks setting up your website and perfectly optimizing it for the search engines. Some basic optimization is really all you need.

And really, that’s it. In all actuality, on-page SEO doesn’t matter that much in Google or any of the main search engines. This might be contrary to what you’ve always been told, but it’s absolutely true. One quick, important not here: remember I said we are either going to do one of two things. Rank a “money site” or rank a “money page”. If you didn’t thorough read my explanation of money sites and sites with money pages, I highly recommend you go back and review that section before moving on. The formula above is for niche “money site” where you’re trying to rank the main domain for a specific target keyword within a smaller, more targeted niche market like “fix xbox 360”. The formula below is for building a site in a larger niche market (for example, Internet marketing) where your goal is just to rank “money pages” that target one keyword per page. Remember you’re going to build this kind of site to target main new keywords that will have a high search volume in the future. Here are main goal is to take advantage of keyword search volume spikes.
Here are some examples:
Product name (a fairly new or future product)
Service or company
A person’s name who has just become known and popular with any one niche market (could be an up and coming guru with not a lot of competition)
A new movie, a new video game, a new WordPress theme or plugin, anything that hasn’t been in existence long (the niches and possibilities are endless)
Ranking for an upcoming event like the Superbowl or the World Cup.
Like I already mentioned, the possibilities here are endless. You just have to be creative, and find ways to make money with the traffic you’re going to get from ranking for that keyword. Sometimes it’s obvious (like ranking for a product with an affiliate program) and sometimes not so obvious, like how to monetize traffic from a new movie that’s coming out. The formula for building a site to rank your “money pages” is just slightly modified…

Here’s why. Remember, our goal is to rank individual pages of this site, one target keyword per page. We want the “money pages” to rank, not the main domain. Think as the main site as turbo-charger to your money pages. We’re leveraging the power of the domain to rank our pages. So with that said, we don’t care if the home page (the root of the domain) ranks for anything. We don’t need to optimize it with a front-page sticky article and the filler content. The only thing we need to slightly optimize is the “money page” that we want to rank. Obviously that’s optimized for the target keyword. So now that I’ve gone into a bit more depth with this, let’s review the two site building formulas again before we move on to further explanation of how to get it all done:

The “Money Page” Site Building Formula The site should be built with WordPress Install the Pretty Links plugin to cloak your affiliate links Install the Platinum SEO Pack plugin with default settings + Target Keyword optimizations Each money page you create is only optimized for one target keyword Ok, now that we know the formulas for each, we’re going to go over each building element in the formula. I will cover every element from each of the formulas above, but remember it’s almost exactly the same. You will just have to take each element and match it up to what formula you are using.
Setting Up WordPress Setting up WordPress is extremely, and as I’m assuming you know at least the basics of SEO, I’m assuming that you’ve done this before. So I’m not going give you a step by step on how to install WordPress and set it up. But I am going to outline some points that you need to take care of to be sure you’re not missing something important. So this part is very easy, you simply set WordPress up on you main domain, and install the Pretty Links plugin and the Platinum SEO plugin. For the Platinum SEO plugin you will use the default settings. You’ll also want to install a clean, easy-to-read, SEO-optimized theme. I recommend using the free Thematic theme. You’re also going to set up your permalinks so they are optimized for the search engines.
Update Permalink and Category/Tags base
Go to Settings > Permalinks inside WordPress We want only the title of our post to appear behind our URL in the search engines like this: Domain.com/title-of-post-hyphenated We also want to change the categories base to “articles” and the tag base “topics” Once you’ve done these items, you’ve successfully setup your site. Now we’re going to talk about some basic optimizations you will do next.
How to SEO Optimize a Niche Money Site If you’re building a “money site” you’ll have to do some basic SEO optimization. Which is to have your target keyword(s) in the title, description and in your keywords meta tags. You can use Platinum SEO plugin to get this done in less than five minutes. Remember we’re only targeting 1-2 keywords max with “money sites”. Here’s an example if I’m trying to rank for “video game rental reviews”:

Above we see a sample of what your result might look like in Google. The title is in blue, the description in black, and your domain in green. Don’t think too much about this. Just make sure your target keywords are in there, and your main target keyword is the first thing that appears in the title. Now you’re going to create some simple pages so that Google will not penalize your site. These are important pages to have on every site you want to get ranked:
An “about” page – just a couple paragraphs with what the site is about. Throw in some keywords. Doesn’t really matter that much what you write here.
A contact page – again write a paragraph or so, and then provide an email address where you can be “reached”.
A privacy policy – this is something Google likes to see. A privacy policy helps Google know your site is legit. There are several sample privacy policy templates you can download and use freely on your site.
After you’ve done your basic SEO you need to add your SEO/monetized frontpage sticky article, and your five “filler” posts. Just create a couple of relevantly named categories (2-4) to place these posts in like: Video game rental reviews Game rental sites Online video game rentals After you finished all the items above, your site is optimized and ready to be promoted with the Site Promotion Formula we’ll cover in phase four.
